YES, We Could (change the World)

Information Is Power….and power drives the change…
Internet and Digital World could be this changing factor… that could save this dying  world from destroying  itself.
Every evolving step has to be “armed” by a transforming factor …that give to the society to be a consciousness of itself and of its rights and that blows away the status quo traditionally governing the system.
In Our Era Internet is this Transforming Factor….that is increasingly fast disrupting a system and an establishment that nowadays seems just anachronistic  and no longer capable of fully exploiting the world’s potential causing instead an unprecedented crisis.
Of course the Status Quo doesn’t give up easy on the idea of keep on making money out of their traditional and established business models…so it’s trying to fight back….creating monsters and imaginary enemies to fight and to discredit Internet as a channel and a medium of freedom….it creates concepts…most of the time abstract….that becomes real ONLY if you consider them within traditional and established paradigms currently ruling each  “industry”.
Take piracy for example….Piracy, which is of course something to fight, is perversely, and within the Industry point of view, become a synonymous of Sharing and that allowed the establishment to fight file sharing as well even when it’s no profit.
•    “After working in the creative industry for a number of years we got a bit tired of the loud complaints regarding the disappearance of business models due to pirating and continuing profit losses.”
•    “We felt that an important part of the story had been lost – the unprecedented cultural impact. Sure, there are lots of industry problems caused by technological innovation but there are also enormous new opportunities for creation.” – David Dworsky and Victor Köhler
Art has been here since forever….it’s only in the last 60 years someone made an industry out of it….an that’s very typical…a self empowered group try to make money on someonelse’s back, trying to keep things steady, to keep making money out of it….till the whole system they build…..collapses under the pressure of changes….and the only thing that will remain from the death of this umpteenth falling empire….is the Art itself.
The point is just THIS: not only the Establishment doesn’t want to consider new ways for the world to prosper…they’re openly fighting them in the name of their personal interests.
U think I’m being a little to conspiracy oriented?!….then….could u explain me how you would consider the SOPA & PIPA initiatives?!

SOPA and PIPA

Members of Congress are trying to do the right thing by going after pirates and counterfeiters but SOPA and PIPA are the wrong way to do it.

1. SOPA and PIPA would censor the Web

The U.S. government could order the blocking of sites using methods similar to those employed by China. Among other things, search engines could be forced to delete entire websites from their search results. That’s why 41 human rights organizations and 110 prominent law professors have expressed grave concerns about the bills.

2. SOPA and PIPA would be job-killers because they would create a new era of uncertainty for American business

Law-abiding U.S. internet companies would have to monitor everything users link to or upload or face the risk of time-consuming litigation. That’s why AOL, EBay, Facebook, Google, LinkedIn, Mozilla, Twitter, Yahoo and Zynga wrote a letter to Congress saying these bills “pose a serious risk to our industry’s continued track record of innovation and job-creation.” It’s also why 55 of America’s most successful venture capitalists expressed concern that PIPA “would stifle investment in Internet services, throttle innovation, and hurt American competitiveness”. More than 204 entrepreneurs told Congress that PIPA and SOPA would “hurt economic growth and chill innovation”.

3. SOPA and PIPA wouldn’t stop piracy

To make matters worse, SOPA and PIPA won’t even work. The censorship regulations written into these bills won’t shut down pirate sites. These sites will just change their addresses and continue their criminal activities, while law-abiding companies will suffer high penalties for breaches they can’t possibly control.

There are effective ways to combat foreign “rogue” websites dedicated to copyright infringement and trademark counterfeiting, while preserving the innovation and dynamism that have made the Internet such an important driver of American economic growth and job creation. Congress should consider alternatives like the OPEN Act, which takes targeted and focused steps to cut off the money supply from foreign pirate sites without making US companies censor the Web.

Millions of Americans oppose SOPA and PIPA because these bills would censor the Internet and slow economic growth in the U.S.

Two bills before Congress, known as the Protect IP Act (PIPA) in the Senate and the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) in the House, would censor the Web and impose harmful regulations on American business. Millions of Internet users and entrepreneurs already oppose SOPA and PIPA.

The Senate will begin voting on January 24th. Please let them know how you feel. Sign this petition urging Congress to vote NO on PIPA and SOPA before it is too late.

They WON’T Stop the World From EVOLVING!!! YES, we Could change things….if we just take consciousness of Our Rights and do something to protect them.
